Cartoon Network Flash Games

Cartoon Network has published a playable browser collection of classic Flash games from Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and other legacy series, preserved and running today.

What Matters

  • Games run in-browser without plugins; CN’s main site now redirects to YouTube, making this collection a rare holdout of the old web.
  • [HN: @Moomoomoo309] Flashpoint Archive (flashpointarchive.org) preserves a far broader Flash game catalog beyond what CN hosts officially.
  • [HN: @ikesau] Internet Archive also holds CN Flash titles, including Teen Titans Battle Blitz, searchable via its unsorted Flash software library.
  • [HN: @arionmiles] “There used to be places for kids on the internet” — CN’s shift to YouTube is seen as part of a broader collapse of dedicated children’s web spaces.
  • [HN: @darkmarmot] A former CN game developer notes their own titles aren’t in the collection, suggesting the archive is incomplete.
  • gToons from Cartoon Orbit has a separate fan revival at gtoons.app per @saarons.
  • ESPN, Nick, and other networks once ran comparable free Flash game portals; none have maintained equivalent preservation efforts.
